Car Insurance Scion (Car Insurance). My husband wants to attend MMI for the boat program? My husband wants to attend MMI for the boat program? My husband is wanting to attend MMI for the marine mechanics program. Does anyone have any insight on the program? I don't know about MMI, but my step-son went through UTI in AZ and got a job before he graduated to work for Sea Ray. Good school. He also took Diesel class which makes him more valuable. All of these schools have a "Lifetime Placement" program so you can always access the list from home on the computer. honestly, while a marine mechanics job is very similiar to an auto mechanics job, the pay usually isnt. he'd probably do better with a similiar course that was auto related instead. or even better with semis. I went to UTI for the Auto and Diesel program a few years ago. Auto parts : Air Temperature Gauge Acura 1995 . Ammeter Alfa Romeo 1996 . Arm Rest Audi 1997 . Blower Pressure Gauge BMW 1998 . Scion . How to Install a Horn Relay in a BoatAn electric horn consumes a lot of power, and while it is possible to directly control a horn with a switch, utilizing a relay is a much better idea. A relay is easy to wire and can safely handle high amperage which would quickly destroy a simple switch. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Signal stat 192 relay or equivalent Momentary contact switch Primary wire Inline fuse holder Horn Step by Step : 1 Mount the relay in a location under the dash. Mount using a screw. 2 Mount the horn using a screw or self-tapping screw 3 Mount the momentary contact switch where the driver can easily reach it when underway. 4 Run a wire from the positive terminal of the boat battery to terminal 87 on the relay. Attach the wire to the relay using a female insulated connector. 5 Connect relay terminals 87a and 86 using a jumper wire. 6 Connect relay terminal 85 to the input terminal of the horn. If the horn has two terminals, connect the second terminal to a good ground or the negative terminal of the battery. 7 Connect relay terminal 30 to the momentary switch. 8 Connect the other switch terminal to a good ground or the battery negative terminal. 9 Sound the horn by pressing the switch.
Scion . How to Replace a Horn in a Nissan MaximaThe Nissan Maxima is a line of cars in continuous production since 1976. The Maxima has evolved from a compact to an upper mid-size sedan. Nissan Maxima owners frequently replace the original equipment manufacturer's horn with a much louder aftermarket horn. This task is fairly straightforward and requires on a few tools to complete. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need New horn kit Wire crimper/stripper Socket wrench set Step by Step : 1 Locate the horns. The Nissan Maxima has high and low tone horns that are both behind the grill and in front of the radiator. Make sure the new horn has the right tone if you are only replacing one horn. 2 Unplug the power connectors and remove the mounting bolt on each horn with a socket wrench. Remove the original horns. 3 Mount the new horns with the original bolt and in the original location, if possible. If you are not installing direct replacements, you may need to find an alternate location with minimal vibrations. Some custom horns also may require you to mount an air compressor. 4 Mount the new horns in the original location and plug in the power connectors to each new horn if you are installing factory replacements. If the original harness is not compatible with the new horns, you will need to use your wire crimper/stripper to connect the original wiring to the new harnesses. 5 Test the new horns at the same time. They should make a highly discordant sound if they are both working. You can also test each horn separately by plugging one in at a time. ResourcesFind replacement horns for your car at JC Whitney. This glossary not only defines the word but usually provides practical information about it as well. What Makes It Start) Although people tend to think that most vehicles are totally powered by gasoline, many parts — the radio, headlights, clock, and so on — actually function on electricity. Of course, you could get along without these devices if you had to, but did you know that it also takes electricity to get your car to start? An ignition system works in conjunction with your car's electrical system to provide the power that allows your starter to make your engine turn over. Once your engine turns over, it can begin to run on gasoline, just as you expected it to. The following is a blow-by-blow explanation of what happens when you start a car. Most vehicles still have traditional gasoline-powered engines; if yours doesn't, you can find information about alternatively powered vehicles in Chapter 7. But then, isn't it always that way? 1. When you turn the key in your car's ignition switch to Start, you close a circuit that allows the current to pass from your battery to your starter via the starter solenoid switch. (See Figure 4-1.) Once the engine is running, fuel (gasoline) flows from the fuel tank at the rear of the car, through the fuel lines, to the fuel pump under the hood. (See Figure 4-2.) Chapter 6 explores the fuel system in detail, and Chapter 13 shows you how to keep it in tune. Figure 4-2: The fuel system. 4. Because fuel is much heavier than air, this mixture works out to something like 1 part of fuel to 9,000 parts of air, by volume. In other words, your engine really runs on air, with a little fuel to help it! 6. This fuel/air mixture passes into the cylinders in your engine. A cylinder, as shown in Figure 4-3, is a hollow pipe with one open end and one closed end. Inside each cylinder is a piston, which fits very snugly and moves up and down. The piston moves up, trapping the fuel/air mixture in the upper part of the cylinder and compressing it into a very small space. 7.
